Sirius, is a well-known cultural commentator and co-founder of Mondo 2000, the iconoclastic magazine that defined the digital culture of the early nineties. He is author or editor of seven books, including Mondo 2000: A User's Guide to the New Edge and The Revolution, Counterculture Through the Ages, and co-authorship with Timothy Leary's last book, Design for Dying. In 2000 he ran for U.S. President for the Revolution© Party. He was a columnist for Artforum International and the San Francisco Examiner.  Sept 21 - Nov 1 Cultivating Personal Power for the Public Good | | Daniel Pinchbeck is the author of the acclaimed Breaking Open the Head. He has written features for The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Wired, Harper's Bazaar, The Village Voice, Salon, and many other publications. He is one of the founders of Open City, an art and literary journal, and an independent book publisher. He was a 1999 - 2000 Fellow of the National Arts Journalism Program at Columbia University. He has also been a columnist for The Art Newspaper of London, and an editor at Connoisseur Magazine. Born in 1966, he grew up in New York City, where his father, Peter Pinchbeck, was an abstract painter. His mother, Joyce Johnson, was part of the Beat Generation in the 1950s. She is the author of several books, including Minor Characters, a memoir. Mediacology: Media Networks, Deep Ecology and the Global Village | | Antonio Lopez was co-founder of the seminal LA punk zine, Ink Disease. From there he traversed zine culture, professional journalism and media literacy education. He has written for Mondo 2000, High Times, Punk Planet, Tricycle, In these Times, Brooklyn Rail, and scores of zines, newspapers and magazines. He's essays about media and culture have been featured in numerous book anthologies, most recently in the MacArthur Foundation's book series, Digital Learning in the 21st Century. His book on media education and sustainability, Mediacology, was published in 2008.
Antonio received professional training at the Center for Investigative Reporting in San Francisco and is a product of Peace and Conflict Studies at UC Berkeley. He received an MA in Media Studies from the New School and holds a PhD from the School of Punk Rock. He teaches and trains instructors in outreach, media production and media literacy, specializing in rural communities. He is also co-creator of the music experience, My Country of Illusion.
